The Informants recently parted ways with longtime drummer Paul Christophersen. The need for change was mutual
and very friendly. Paul is an absolutely incredible musician (and all around music industry guru) and we wish
him the best in all of his future endeavours. As The Informants always do, they made the most of the need for change...
The band is very happy to officially announce the AMAZING new drummer, the one-and-only Nate Nicholson! Many of
you will recognize Nate from his funky, funky drumming with Brethren Fast. It seems that change is in the
air in the Denver music scene and change is always good. Nate brings a fresh new backbeat to the already
rockin' Informants sound. Nate is also a phenomenal singer, so be sure to check out a show this Fall
(the Fall Schedule has just been released) to hear the
new-and-improved Informants!

Wipe It Off! Records announced it will issue Crime Scene Queen, the second release from the Informants, on July 28th. The twelve song record is a natural diversion for the modern roots pioneers, as it continues their musical trek from the jump blues and R&B stylings that defined 2007's Stiletto Angel , into new territories -- from gospel to rock. Crime Scene Queen was recorded last winter at Denver's Notably Fine Audio marking the return of Stiletto Angel engineer Mario Casillo and producer Jeremy Lawton (Big Head Todd and the Monsters), who further refined the unmistakable roots sound they helped create on The Informants' critically acclaimed debut record. A free promotional download will be released on July 14th as the album's first single.
To celebrate the release of Crime Scene Queen the Informants will host a CD Release Party at the Soiled Dove Underground in Denver (7401 East 1st Avenue) on July 30th at 8:00PM. The event will include the only complete live perfomance of the Crime Scene Queen album in its entirety, plus a performance from The Aquasonics, live burlesque by Orchid Mei, plus Go-Go Dancers and lots more!

Band members Kerry Pastine, Mark Richardson, Paul Shellooe, Mac McMurray and Paul Christophersen were on hand to accept the award. The Informants debut recording, Stiletto Angel, made its national radio chart debut on the RIYL Music Charts for the week of May 21, 2008. Stiletto Angel debuted at a respectable #466 on the RIYL Unweighted Chart and #623 on the RIYLWeighted Chart; 757 records were reported on each chart. The unweighted chart considers each play as being equal, while the weighted chart takes into consideration that some reporting stations have more influence.
Westword named the Informants the "Best Bar Band" in its Best of Denver 2008 edition (March 26, 2008). Here is what they had to say:
“Plenty of musicians take umbrage if their group is called a bar band. Still, the finest acts with this label don't need open taps or drink specials to work their magic; their playing is intoxicating enough. Witness the Informants, which boasts killer brass, a driving rhythm section, a lead singer (Kerry Pastine) capable of starting any party, and songs such as "Stuck on You" (from the album Stiletto Angel) that sound just as good to a designated driver as the folks along for the ride.”
